Press-on nail art is only as good as the hands that wear it. Here's everything you need to know — from the first step to the second wear.
01 — Prep
Good nails start before the set ever touches your hands.
- Remove any old polish or residue completely
- Wash your hands and dry them thoroughly — moisture is the enemy of adhesion
- Lightly buff the surface of each nail — just enough to remove shine
- Push back your cuticles gently
- Wipe each nail with a lint-free pad soaked in rubbing alcohol or nail prep solution
- Do not apply lotion, oil, or hand cream before application
02 — Apply
You have two options: adhesive tabs or nail glue. Each serves a different purpose.
Adhesive tabs — for events, dinners, and short-to-medium wear (1–5 days).
Damage-free and easy to remove. Ideal if you want flexibility.
Nail glue — for extended wear (7–14 days).
A stronger bond. Best when you want to forget they're press-ons.
To apply:
- Select your adhesive
- Apply to your natural nail — not the press-on
- Press the nail down at a slight angle from the cuticle edge
- Hold firmly for 10–15 seconds
- Repeat on all ten nails
- Press down along the sides to seal the edges
Avoid water for at least one hour after application.
03 — Wear
Editory sets are made to be lived in — but a little care goes a long way.
- Avoid prolonged soaking — long baths, dishwashing without gloves, swimming
- Use your fingertip pads, not your nail tips, when opening things
- If an edge lifts slightly, press it back down immediately with a small amount of glue
With proper care, adhesive tab sets last 3–5 days. Glue-applied sets last 7–14 days.
